Carol Hagler
Carol Hagler joined the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) in July 2021 as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst focused on website management and legislative analysis. In December 2024, she joined the technical team as a Staff Services Manager I (Specialist). In her new position, Carol will play an essential role in the administration of the code adoption process for Title 24. She will continue to develop and maintain the CBSC website and analyze current legislation for potential impacts on Title 24 and the building standards development process. Her dedication to the importance of keeping accessibility issues at the forefront of our technological interface with the public will also continue to be felt throughout our rulemaking documents and web presence.
Prior to joining CBSC, Carol’s career was in software development. She worked in an assortment of entities in central Texas and in Silicon Valley ranging from the largest public university in the country to a successful startup, and on platforms that included everything from mainframes to iOS apps.
Carol earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Baylor University’s Neuroscience department (Sic ‘Em, Bears!). She and her wife have two grown sons and two decidedly immature dogs. Favorite activities during her off hours include smoking barbecue, cooking, baking, board games with good friends, choral music, and all things Dachshund. Her next interest is in developing some woodworking skills.
