Havel Weidner Head shot

Havel Weidner joined the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) in October 2024 as an Associate Architect. His duties include coordinating the development and codification of building standards amongst multiple state agencies, with a particular focus on standards for water reuse systems and pre-plumbing of buildings for the future use of recycled water or other alternative water sources.

Havel was born and grew up in San Francisco, where he developed a lasting enjoyment of architecture and the built environment. He studied painting and drawing in high school, which eventually led him to pursue architecture as a college major and profession. Prior to joining CBSC, Havel worked on the architectural design and documentation of residential, commercial, and educational projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo, and has been a licensed architect since 2022.

In his free time Havel can be found running, hiking, biking, or climbing around the Sacramento area, or pursuing his more stationary interests of reading, sketching, and fishing.
