Woo Cheong
Woo Cheong joined CBSC in July of 2024 as an Associate Architect. His duties include the development and review of proposed building standards for inclusion in various parts of Title 24, with an emphasis on the adoption of and amendments to international model codes.
Woo was born in Seoul, South Korea, and graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in architectural engineering. He then moved to the United States to complete a master’s program in architecture at the University of Minnesota. He has been a licensed architect in California since 2006.
Woo has accumulated 17 years of experience at architectural firms specializing in healthcare facility projects. During this time, he worked extensively for organizations such as Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and the VA Medical Center in the West Coast region. Prior to joining CBSC, he also managed his own independent architectural practice.
Outside of work, Woo and his wife Young enjoy outdoor activities, particularly camping and hiking in natural surroundings. They are avid gardeners, cultivating herbal plants and fruit trees at home. They also cherish time spent walking, biking, and exploring with their beloved dog, Choco Junior.
