This is a representation of the 2022 Intervening Code Adoption Cycle that will result in amendments to the 2022 California Building Standards Code, Title 24, which will be the supplements effective on July 1, 2024. It is a tubular-shaped timeline showing significant dates in the cycle. The timeline shows the following: January 2022 through December 2022 is the State Agency Workshop phase, during which the public can participate. The due date for initial submittals of proposed code changes is December 1, 2022. February 2023 through March 2023 is the Code Advisory Committee meeting phase, during which the public can participate. The Code Advisory Committees are ACCESS for Accessibility, BFO for Building, Fire and Other, GREEN for Green Building, HF for Health Facilities, PEME for Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical and Energy, and SDLF for Structural Design and Lateral Forces. March 2023 through May 2023 will be the 45-day public comment periods that are another opportunity for the public to participate. Proposed actions are added to the California Regulatory Notice Register. July 2023 through August 2023, Commission meetings at which the public can participate are held for adoption and approval of proposals, which are subsequently filed with the Secretary of State. August 2023 through December 2023 is the codification and publication period. The publication date for supplements to all parts of Title 24 is January 1, 2024.  January 2024 to July 2024 is the statutorily required 180-day period between the publication date and the effective date.
