Drake Dillard

Drake Dillard is an accomplished architect with over 30 years of experience in managing the design and construction of medical, educational, and commercial projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois and a Master of Arts degree in Architecture from Howard University. With a passion for public service, he is a member of Omega Psi Phi Inc., a public service fraternity.

Commissioner Dillard's notable achievements include designing the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Science in South Los Angeles, a historic institution and one of the few landmarks in Los Angeles designed by a Black architect. He is a vocal advocate for diversity in the architecture profession and serves as a mentor to aspiring architects of color, supporting them in pursuing their dreams.

In addition to his architectural work, Commissioner Dillard is actively involved in various community and industry organizations. He currently serves on The Crenshaw Design Review Panel, acts as a Commissioner for LA County, and holds the position of Board Chair of the Crenshaw Family YMCA. He is a member and past National President of The National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) and serves as a Board Director for the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA LA).

Commissioner Dillard continues to make significant contributions to the progression of amazing architecture. With his extensive experience, commitment to diversity, and involvement in community organizations, he is a respected figure in the field and strives to create positive change in the architectural profession.
