The Direct Construction Unit (DCU) provides solutions statewide to construction problems by providing timely and cost-effective services which are in the best interest of the State of California and its buildings.  Construction may be of an indeterminate scope, within occupied buildings, with minimal oversight by clients and/or tenants.

DCU is able to provide quick and urgent response through the utilization of casual employment of skilled trades staff. Construction solutions provided by DCU include, however are not limited to:

  • Painting
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Roofing (spot repair and/or inspection)
  • Water-Proofing
  • Landscaping
  • Flooring

DCU is proud to partner with Facilities Management building staff to deliver quality solutions to a wide range of tenant construction requests through the request for services in Maximo as well as larger scope of work projects via a CRUISE request.
