DGS Helps Agencies Move to Zero Net Energy Buildings
Governor Brown has directed that all new state buildings and major renovations beginning design after 2025 be constructed as Zero Net Energy facilities with an interim target for 50 percent of new facilities beginning design after 2020 to be Zero Net Energy. State agencies shall also take measures toward achieving Zero Net Energy for 50 percent of the square footage of existing state-owned building area by 2025.
The initial ZNE Early Adopters meeting will be held at the DGS offices in West Sacramento on July 16th, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. followed by an opportunity to network with participants. All interested state agencies are encouraged to attend. The Early Adopters Leadership Network is open to any public agency and their building design consultants.
