The state aims to buy personal protective equipment (PPE) waste disposal services that have a minimal impact on the environment and human health. The agreements with the designated service providers are considered environmentally preferable purchasing because they practice waste aversion. Instead, they will recycle or use waste-to-energy methods to dispose of the waste responsibly. The agreement requires the service providers to prioritize recycling and zero landfill disposal.

  • Look for a covered electric waste ID (CEWID) number with planned route.
  • Look for a resource conservation and recovery act (RCRA) permitted facility.
  • Verify the RCRA permitted facility at Department of Toxic Control EnviroStor
  • Look for a complete DTSC Form 187
