Request Freight Rate Comparison for State Agencies

State agencies that want a freight rate comparison should submit a request to the Transportation Management Unit (TMU).
Per State Contracts Manual Chapter 8, Topic 5, 8.5.0, a freight rate comparison should be made when the weight of the shipment on a purchase exceeds 100 pounds. 

How to Request Freight Rate Comparison

  1. When requesting freight costs or routing information, the following information is required:

    • Origin city, state, and zip code
    • Destination city, state, and zip code
    • Description of commodity
    • Shipping weight
    • National Motor Freight Classification and Shipping Class (Obtain from supplier)
    • Special shipping requirements (obtain from supplier)
