The Construction Inspection and Management Branch (CIMB) provides a full range of construction phase services for State public works projects statewide. These services include construction management, quality assurance inspection and observation, California building codes and regulations compliance, construction contract compliance and guarantee enforcement.

Our vision is Excellence in the Built Environment. Our staff members encourage coordination, communication and early identification of problems and issues that could impact the project. They work collaboratively with the project team to come up with solutions to difficult construction situations, and help contractors understand the requirements in the plans and specifications. Many times this approach eliminates the need for a Request for Information and the inherent delay.

Our goal as the State’s representative in the construction process is to provide the client with the best possible outcome with the least amount of disruption. All CIMB construction supervisors and inspectors bring a positive attitude, and exercise tact, good judgement and fairness in a professional manner.

Any combination of construction phase services are available to State agencies that have authorization to administer their own construction programs. The services are tailored to suit the size, complexity and specific project needs of client agency’s management staff, and the operational and program needs.
