The California Department of Forestry (CalFire) surplus property in Riverside has been identified as an opportunity for development of affordable housing and the site was transferred to the Department of Housing and Community Development. The former CalFire property (the “Site”) is located at 2524 Mulberry Street. The Site is approximately 4.07 acres of improved land. The Site is located within an Opportunity Zone and Qualified Census Tract.

Project Milestones

Project Milestones Laing Companies and Valued Housing will develop the stie. The site will facilitate the construction of 209 multifamily units, including a range of one to three bedrooms, along with a community room, computer lab, fitness facilities and a playground. The units are income restricted with Average Median Incomes (AMI) limits as follows:

  • 35 Units-50% AMI

Phase II:

150 Family Units

  • 38 Units-30% AMI
  • 22 Units-40% AMI
