The California Department of Forestry (CalFire) surplus property in Riverside has been identified as an opportunity for development of affordable housing and the site was transferred to the Department of Housing and Community Development. The former CalFire property (the “Site”) is located at 2524 Mulberry Street. The Site is approximately 4.07 acres of improved land. The Site is located within an Opportunity Zone and Qualified Census Tract.

Project Milestones

Phase I: 59 Units are under construction and the construction completion date is set for 12/2025 

  • 14 Units with an Average Median Income restriction of 30%
  • 9 Units with an Average Median Income restriction of 45%
  • 35 Units with an Average Median Income restriction of 50%
