The Department of General Services (DGS) has entered into a long-term ground lease with the Capitol Area Development Authority (CADA), a Joint Powers Authority between the State and the City of Sacramento. The State property is at 1322 O Street in Sacramento located one block south of the State Capitol. The 1322 O Street housing project is a mixed-use project consisting of 57 microunit apartments at 267 sq. ft. each and a manager’s unit for a total of 58 units with 1,300 SF of ground floor commercial space. 100 percent of the 57 units will be affordable at low and very low income levels.
The Project is on an underutilized infill site with exceptional public transit accessibility, walkability, and proximity to jobs and services. 1322 O Street is one of the first projects under Executive Order (EO) N-06-19 for Affordable Housing Development, which prioritizes affordable housing development on excess State-owned property and pursuit of sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective construction methods.
