The California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) can provide informational materials, event speakers and educational sessions regarding the California Building Standards Code (Title 24) for code users and enforcement entities throughout the state. These sessions are beneficial for groups of design professionals and enforcement agencies such as architects, engineers, local building officials, code developers and other code users.

Topics offered by CBSC are 1) An update on the current code adoption cycle status, including how to participate in the process and when the next edition of Title 24 will be published; 2) How to use and apply Title 24, with a focus on Matrix Adoption Tables; 3) The history and development of the California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen, Part 11 of Title 24), including recent code updates for non-residential occupancies; and 4) How CBSC administers the public rulemaking process to develop, adopt and publish Title 24. Presentations are customized to address current proposals and newly adopted regulations.

Groups of 20 or more are preferred, but we understand getting that many attendees together can be a challenge. We suggest that you team together with fellow organizations for in-person training by CBSC staff. If that’s not achievable, we can accommodate smaller groups virtually. If you’re interested in arranging a Title 24 session for your group or would like to request a CBSC speaker for your event, please email the E&O coordinator at cbsctraining@dgs.ca.gov or use the form below.
