Electric Vehicle Charging Guide
Learn where to find and how to use electric vehicle charging stations.

The Department of General Services (DGS) is committed to establishing policies and programs that reduce greenhouse gasses, protect air and water quality, promote energy diversity, and support low-carbon alternative fuel technologies.
DGS owned and operated electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are available on a first come, first served basis. Fees and time limits are outlined in the DGS Parking Policy. To initiate a charging session, please follow the instructions displayed on the EV charging station’s screen.
To report a broken or malfunctional EV charging station, email parking@dgs.ca.gov a description of the issue, the facility address, and EV charging station ID number.
State agencies that lease an EV from DGS are provided with a RFID fob to pay for EV charging fees. Fleet coordinators may contact fleetservices@dgs.ca.gov for billing assistance.
EV Chargers are independently owned and operated by each Department. Fees, time limits and access restrictions may apply. Please contact the respective departments to inquire about department specific EV charging policies.
