Model Contract Language for Agreements with California Universities

The Department of General Services (DGS) has reached agreement on a set of model contract terms with the University of California and the California State Universities pursuant to Education Code section 67325, et. seq.

Please be advised that:  Effective April 1, 2019, Departments are to utilize the model terms and conditions (UTC-220) in new contracts between their agencies and The Regents of the University of California and The Trustees of the California State University.   A "new contract" is defined as the award of funds not previously budgeted or appropriated by a state agency for the work to be done by the university.  Pursuant to Education Code section 67327, the standard provisions of the model contract are to be used unless both contracting parties mutually agree that a specific contract term or provision is inappropriate or inadequate for a specified contract.  If you have questions about a particular contract, please contact your assigned OLS attorney.
