Service of Process

The Department of General Services—Office of Legal Services receives service of process documents and subpoenas between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at 707 Third Street, Suite 7-330, West Sacramento, CA 95605.

Please note that our authority is limited to accepting service of process only on behalf of DGS and its divisions, including the Division of the State Architect, the Office of Administrative Hearings, and DGS officers named in their official capacity.

Documents and subpoenas directed to the “State of California” must be served on the Office of the Attorney General (the Attorney General’s Sacramento office is located at 1300 I Street).
