UNCLAIMED TRUST ACCOUNTS - 18424

Unclaimed trust accounts within the Special Deposit Fund (SDF) provide a depository for the following:

• Any unclaimed money that is required by law to be deposited into the SDF.
• Any unclaimed money, including deposits, that is not required by law to be deposited into a specific fund.

The following SAM sections provide guidance on the handling of specific types of unclaimed money:

• Unclaimed State Controller’s Warrants - SAM Sections 8281 and 8580.5
• Unclaimed Agency Checks - SAM Section 8042
• Unclaimed Deposits - SAM Section 8283
