New Energy Interpretation of Regulations

DSA has issued a new Energy Interpretation of Regulations.

The Division of the State Architect (DSA) has issued Interpretation of Regulations (IR) N-4: Modular Battery Energy Storage Systems: 2022 CBC and CFC for guidance on battery energy storage systems installations and may be accessed on DSA’s Publications webpage.

IR N-4 clarifies structural and fire and life safety design requirements as well as identifying what shall be included in the construction documents. This IR also clarifies the seismic design or alternative shake table testing requirements of premanufactured modules and the internal components for seismic loading.
